Ma'am, We Pulled You Over For Petting Your Dog

A proposed distracted driving bill in Florida would make it a primary offense to pet your dog, put on makeup, read, write, or hold a phone.

And I totally get that these can be distractions.

I've had a dog try to get under my feet when I'm driving. And I've known people who put on their makeup behind the wheel... and one guy who used to read the newspaper while driving to work.

The big thing is this bill makes texting and other distractions a primary offense... which means you could be pulled over if you're spotted doing something distracting behind the wheel.

We're all guilty of letting things distract us when we're driving. And if this bill passes, a lot more of us will be getting tickets on Florida highways.
